Publication of “La Doctrine sociale de l’Église”
At a time when everyone questions the “moralization of capitalism” and moral aspects of the crisis, the Social Doctrine of the Church, being an economic ethic for our time, provides an answer. The Church, “expert in humanity”, bases this doctrine on a natural and Christian anthropology based on faith and reason. It goes to the root of the problem: human, good andevil, the institutions that enable him to act with a responsible use of his liberty; and is not a theory, but “a foundation and motivation for action. ”
In this book, Jean-Yves Naudet brings together twenty articles and lectures making an intellectual tour of the main themes and applications of Christian social teachings. This book should not necessarily be read linearly, although itconstitutes a coherent whole.
Jean-Yves Naudet is Professor at the School of Law at the University of Aix-Marseille, Director of the Centre for Economic Research in Ethics. He is also Chairman of the Association of Catholic Economists, Vice-President of the International Association for Christian Social Teaching and member of the Catholic Academy of France, he teaches business ethics and the social doctrine of the Church in many institutions.
